The expansion of onshore and offshore wind can create more jobs in the wind industry in Germany’s key industrial state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) than would be lost by a faster coal phase-out, a study by wind:research found.

The study that was supported by wind industry group WAB also shows how the expansion of wind at sea to 30GW by 2030 as planned by the new federal government under Chancellor Olaf Scholz will also create value and employment far from the coast.
