Wind turbine efficiency is increasing rapidly in Finland, pushing down production costs, new research shows just as the Nordic country is planning to end fossil-based power generation amid a pledge to become CO2-neutral by 2035.

Last year, the best performing wind farm in Finland had a capacity factor of almost 45%, which is also the efficiency of wind farms currently under construction in the country, according to data from the VTT Technical Research Center of Finland, the Finnish Wind Power Association said.
