The nation’s wind turbines produced 181,791 GWh of electricity last year versus 167,840 GWh in 2013. The 13,951GWh year-on-year improvement was the best for any renewable or traditional power source.
Texas was the largest wind power generator last year with 39,371 GWh, followed by Iowa, 16,295 GWh; California, 13,776 GWh; Oklahoma, 11,862 GWh and Kansas, 10,844 GWh
Wind trails only hydro among renewable sources of electricity.
