More than three quarters of new utility-scale power generation in the US came from renewables in 2020, according to end-of-year figures from government agency Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
The US installed 13.63GW of wind power in 2020, with a further 8.54GW of solar (excluding distributed*), 253MW of hydro and 29MW of biomass, making up 78% of total new generation — up from 60.6%
