After several years of record activity, US onshore wind installations are set for a sharp decline in 2022 – just as President Joe Biden is calling on the industry to do more to help accelerate the country’s transition away from fossil fuels.

“We’re expecting a pretty big slowdown because of uncertainty around the tax credits and current cost increases the industry is seeing related to materials shortages, logistics issues, and inflation,” said Samantha Bobo Woodworth, senior research analyst, global wind energy, IHS Markit.
