Just a day before it was announced that Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) would become part of an independent all-energy spin-off from parent company Siemens (see panel), SGRE chief executive Markus Tacke highlighted a major shift in the OEM’s focus.
He revealed that, for the first time, in the second quarter of this year (which for SGRE ended in March), the company made more investment in offshore wind than onshore.
