A senior executive at Masdar said Western wind turbine manufacturers need a "change of mindset" from their current "take it or leave it" approach in the face of growing Chinese competition, after the UAE-based global renewables giant picked Goldwind for a showcase project on home turf.
Goldwind supplied the 23 turbines for the newly inaugurated UAE wind programme as the result of a competitive bidding process.
