Denmark in reaction to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has presented an update to its energy strategy that foresees an additional 1GW to 4GW of offshore wind, as well as a quadrupling of solar and onshore wind output by 2030.

The Denmark Can Do More II plan from the office of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen also calls for a start in preparations of new energy islands in the North Sea, and stipulates the small Nordic country will reap its full offshore wind potential to export green electricity beyond its shores to wean Europe off Russian energy.
