Vineyard Wind sweetened its bid for its recently unveiled Commonwealth Wind project in the US Atlantic with an offer to redevelop Salem Harbor into the US state of Massachusetts’ second offshore wind port.

Vineyard Wind, a joint venture between Avangrid Renewables and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), said that it would form a public-private partnership with the city of Salem and local marine construction outfit Crowley Maritime, to redevelop the harbour, contingent on the approval of at least 800MW of its proposed up-to-1.2GW
