Vestas has won an order to supply SSE Renewables’ 443MW Viking wind project on the Shetland Islands in the Northern Atlantic off Scotland, which the Danish OEM said is its largest deal for a single wind farm in Europe to date.

The company had supplied turbines to the 1GW Fosen wind complex in Norway - where the last turbine has just been installed - but that giant project is divided into six sub-wind projects that are geographically close, but not one single wind farm.
