The Danish company will spend $66m on the new headquarters building. Vestas had considered sites in Colorado, where it has invested more than $750m in four manufacturing plants, and Texas, before deciding to keep the North American headquarters in Portland, where it has been based since 2002.
“We are making a long-term commitment to Portland,” Martha Wyrsch, president of Vestas-American Wind Technology, says in a statement.
