Vestas received a welcome boost to its offshore wind ambitions as Iberdrola confirmed its V174-9.5 MW turbines for its 476MW Baltic Eagle project that will be the Danish OEM's largest deployment off Germany so far.
The Spanish group will install the turbines off the island of Rugen as it develops a Baltic hub to add its existing Wikinger project.
Iberdrola named the V174 as its preferred choice for Baltic Eagle in early 2019, when the machine was still under the banner of MHI Vestas.
