Vestas booked a US debut for its most powerful onshore wind turbine as its 6MW EnVentus featured in a 234MW order announced on Friday.
An unidentified customer ordered 15 V162-6.0 MW machines in a wider contract that also includes V150s operating at 4.3MW and V110-2.0 MW turbines, for delivery in the second half of 2021.
The Danish group only unveiled the beefed-up 6MW V162 and V150 models in October, raising the power bar for its modular EnVentus platform that had already scored in the US market as part of 1.2GW
