Vestas led a trio of foreign turbine makers that between them last year made only slight progress in a Chinese wind market dominated by local giants Goldwind and Envision – but the country’s move offshore could spell better news for Western OEMs, said research group Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF).

Latest BNEF turbine installation figures for 2018 show Vestas, Siemens Gamesa and GE between them taking 5% of the country’s market, up one percentage point from 2017.
