Vestas has installed a prototype of its V155-3.3MW turbine for low and ultra-low winds at the Østerild test centre in western Denmark.
After first power in early September, the prototype will undergo extensive test before serial production, which is slated to start in the first quarter of next year.
The company had launched the model in late 2020 as a 4MW platform variant, and will upgrade the prototype’s standard rating to 3.6MW
