Vestas will site a trio of its flagship 15MW offshore wind turbines at a test and demonstration site off Frederikshavn, Denmark, under plans unveiled with developer European Energy.
The wind OEM giant’s V236-15.0 MW machine is slated to take three of the five positions planned by European Energy some four kilometres offshore.
The 15MW turbine – unveiled last year and among the largest in development globally – is already earmarked for a debut onshore prototype deployment at Denmark’s Østerild national test centre later in 2022.
