Danish wind turbine OEM Vestas is entering the Senegalese market, confirming a 159MW engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Parc Eolien Taiba N’Diaye, the country’s first large utility-scale wind energy project and the largest wind project in West Africa.
The project will help Senegal reduce the use of costly and polluting imported fossil fuels that currently make up most of its energy matrix.
