Company spokesman Andrew Longeteig says Vestas paid $2.5m for the parcel, just east of its first US manufacturing facility, and technically in the jurisdiction of Greeley, Colorado.
“Vestas will initially use the land for blade storage,” he says in a statement. “We’ve made a commitment to locate our North American manufacturing facilities in Colorado, and this land purchase will give us flexibility for future growth.”
