Vestas 6MW EnVentus turbines unleashed as onshore wind powers-up

Vestas beefed-up its EnVentus platform to 6MW as the onshore wind sector continues its relentless march to more powerful machines.

Vestas – the world’s biggest supplier of onshore turbines – will install a prototype of its V162-6.0 MW at Denmark’s Østerild test centre, next to the operating V150-5.6 MW that’s already been uprated to 6MW.

The upgrade can deliver an increase of more than 3% in energy production over the 5.6MW
