A service vessel has reportedly crashed into a North Sea wind turbine, injuring crew members onboard.

The Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM) reported that on Sunday morning one of its lifeboats had rescued two crew members on the Glomar Venture who had sustained injuries during an incident.

Although it did not specify what the incident was, media reports state the injuries occurred after the vessel crashed into a wind turbine off the Dutch coast.

It is presently unclear at which wind farm the incident occurred. KNRM and the vessel’s owner, Glomar Offshore, were approached for comment.

The Glomar Venture, a Panama-flagged vessel 46 metres in length, has since docked in the Dutch port of Den Helder.

There were eight crew members on board when the incident occurred. One other crew member reportedly later checked themselves into a hospital after the vessel was brought to shore.

A photo published of the vessel at Den Helder shows it with a severely dented nose.
