According to documents lodged by Verve with the WA Environment Protection Authority, the A$600m Warradarge wind farm – located about 270km north of Perth – would deploy 100 turbines to generate sufficient power for 140,000 homes.
Public comment on the proposal ends today.
Given state government approval and the completion of a 330kV transmission line from Eneabba to Three Springs, the project would start in 2014, with construction taking place in three phases through to 2020.
