Vergnet said it will distribute Sinovel’s SL1500 and SL3000 turines in France and other regions including the Pacific and Indian Ocean.
The French group added that “in the longer term, Sinovel may transfer part of its production to France”, without giving further details.
The partnership will see Vergnet market the SL1500 turbine to large wind farms in areas prone to typhoons.
Vergnet chairman Jérôme Douat said: "With our expertise in the construction of turnkey renewable energy facilities, and Sinovel's highly competitive machines, this partnership will allow us to establish a position in the construction of major wind farms, a market offering considerable growth potential."
Vergnet makes its own two-bladed turbines, with about 700 in service around the world, according to the company’s website.
