Dutch transmission system operator TenneT has awarded Royal Boskalis Westminster unit VBMS an about €70m ($77.3m) contract for the installation of two export cables to link the 700MW Borssele 1&2 offshore project to the Dutch mainland electricity grid.

“Awarding this contract enables us once more to demonstrate the added value of bringing together the specialist expertise and technology of VBMS, NKT Cables and the various disciplines within the Boskalis group,” says VBMS managing director Arno van Poppel.
