A “vast majority” of Vestas employees in Germany didn’t heed a call for a five-day strike, the wind turbine manufacturer told Recharge, adding it strongly regrets that metal workers union IG Metall had called for the labour stoppage in times of “global energy crisis and insecurity”.
The coastal section of the usually powerful union yesterday (Monday) had initiated a five-day strike in an attempt to push through salary increases and force the wind turbine OEM to grant collectively agreed working conditions for its staff.
