Developer RWE has selected Dutch marine contractor Van Oord to deliver and install foundations and array cables for the giant 1.4GW Sofia wind farm off the UK.

Under the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) deal with RWE, Van Oord will sail out its Aeolus construction vessel to pile-in 100 extended monopiles and its Nexus cable-ship to install some 350km of array lines, at the site on Dogger Bank off north-east England.
