UTC hopes to divest Clipper within 12 months, Matthew Bates, communications manager at Pratt & Whitney Power Systems, a UTC division that includes Clipper, tells Recharge. The company did not estimate proceeds from the eventual sale.

Other “non-core” assets placed for sale are Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, best-known for supplying the main rocket engines for the US space programme, and the Hamilton Sundstrand Industrial businesses.
