US Wind expects to partner with an “experienced offshore foundation fabricator” to bring its planned Sparrows Point Steel facility in Baltimore into full production, enabling supply for the up-to-1.2GW Momentum Wind and other developers’ Atlantic coast projects.

The company, majority owned by Renexia, the renewables arm of Toto Group based in Chieti, Italy, did not name potential future partners. Sparrows Point Steel would be the country’s second such facility with Germany’s EEW reportedly investing $250m to begin 2023 production in Paulsboro, New Jersey.
