The US wind construction boom will peak in 2020 when 13.6GW of new capacity will come online, as developers race to complete projects to ensure their eligibility for expiring federal production tax credits, according to researcher Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables.
The industry single year record is 13.3GW in 2012 before another imminent expiration of the PTC, which was subsequently extended by Congress.
