US greenhouse gas emissions in 2022 rose 1.3% versus a year earlier despite greater renewable energy generation, trending the nation away from meeting its climate targets set under the Paris Agreement, according to a preliminary estimate released Tuesday by the Rhodium Group.
Under President Joe Biden, the US set a 2030 target of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 50-52% below 2005 levels.
