Spearheading implementation of the strategy will be the Departments of Energy (DOE) and Interior (DOI). Each has identified actions they plan to address, and set individual objective s against which they will measure progress.
DOE aims to reduce the levelised cost of energy through technological advancement to help allow offshore wind to compete with local electricity costs.
DOI seeks to enhance its regulatory program to ensure that oversight processes are “well-informed and adaptable, avoid unnecessary burdens, and provide transparency and certainty for the regulated community and stakeholders.”
