Global renewables giant Iberdrola strengthened its credentials as a leader in America’s offshore wind revolution with a deal to take full control of 2GW of advanced-stage east coast projects in a cash and asset-swap deal with long-time partner Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
Under the deal, Avangrid Renewables – the US group controlled by Spain-based Iberdrola – will take full ownership of Park City Wind and its 804MW off Connecticut, and Commonwealth Wind, which would encompass deployment of up to 1.2GW
