The decision by DOI’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to issue a Request for Interest RFI) was in response to a request in January by Seattle-based Trident Winds to lease an offshore area for a potential $3.23bn, 765MW project consisting of 100 floating foundations.
In March, BOEM found that Trident is legally, technically and financially qualified to hold a lease there.
