The 110GW of capacity in queues was almost one-and-a-half times the 73.9GW of wind generation capacity the US had installed on 31 December last year, and was an increase from 96GW in queues at the end of 2014.

In 2015, 45GW of wind power capacity entered the interconnection queues versus 58GW of natural gas and 24GW of solar, the largest annual amount since 2010.
