US engineering giant Bechtel plans to enter the UK floating wind market in a link-up with sector pioneer Hexicon.

Bechtel, one of the world’s largest engineering and construction players, and Sweden-based Hexicon plan a 35-40MW demonstrator project in British waters using the latter’s triangular, steel twin-turbine concept.

No details of the planned project were given in a statement announcing the partnership, which adds to the growing momentum behind floating technology in the UK and globally.
