Consortia led by Dominion, Fishermen’s Energy and Principle Power will have until May 2016 to complete final engineering design, permitting, plans to install, operate and maintain their projects, and to secure a power off-take agreement.
They missed the initial deadline last July and requested more time to comply.
DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) has not explicitly stated where all three groups came up short, beyond acknowledging none of them secured customers for the power.
