Shareholders GE Energy Financial Services, OPTrust, Partners Group and Renewable Energy Systems (RES) are financing the $450m project, which they say will become the country’s third largest wind farm.
RES is developing the facility with Downer, a leading Australian engineering and construction company.
The 3.2MW turbines with 103-meter rotors would be among GE’s largest for an onshore project.
RES plans to have the project in commercial operation in April 2017.
