GE Renewable Energy is planning what it billed as “the largest, most advanced” wind rotor test rig of its type globally as part of a push for turbine blades of 120 metres or longer.

The wind OEM, its blade subsidiary LM Wind Power and Dutch research group TNO will build the rig at LM’s Technology Center in Wieringerwerf in the Netherlands by the end of this year, said a statement from the partners.
