The European Environment Agency says the UK has the largest technical potential for offshore wind power in Europe, while Scotland holds 25% of Europe’s wind and tidal resources and 40% of the UK’s fixed offshore wind potential, according to Scottish Development International.
UK offshore wind projects attracted nearly three quarters of the record €14bn ($15.38bn) of European offshore wind investments in the first half of this year, according to WindEurope.
