Latest quarterly data from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) gives PV an installed capacity of 8.755GW by the end of 2015’s third quarter, statistically a fraction ahead of the 8.75GW of onshore wind in place.
However, onshore wind remains comfortably the larger generator with 3.78TWh produced in the 2015 third quarter against PV’s 2.68TWh – although the latter represented a 73% year-on-year rise.
