Long-time offshore wind market leader the UK will by the end of this year be overshadowed by both China and Vietnam in terms of headline capacity figures as the sector’s centre of gravity tilts towards Asia, said a major new industry report.
Total project development capacity potential in the Asia-Pacific and China region has for the first time surpassed that in Europe, Middle East and Africa at 193GW against 140GW, said the latest Global Offshore Wind Market Report from Renewables Consulting Group (RCG).
