New UK onshore wind installations plummeted by nearly 80% last year to 598MW – their lowest level since 2011, according to new figures from industry body RenewableUK.
The dramatic fall in new onshore capacity in 2018 – made up of 263 turbines installed at 54 sites – was a big drop from the record 2.66GW of capacity installed in 2017.
