Swiss-based player ABB and cable specialist Prysmian Group have secured work on the 1GW Interconnexion France-Angleterre 2 (IFA2), which will further connect UK and France.

ABB has won an order worth around €270m ($287m) from the UK grid operator National Grid and French network operator, Réseau de Transport d'Electricité (RTE), to provide key high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology that will help interconnect the electricity networks of France and the UK.
