A poll of almost 1,000 members by the UK Institute of Directors (IoD) showed 79% support for more offshore wind, 55% for onshore turbines and 87% for solar. Marine renewables also scored highly.
They were more evenly split over the role of the controversial Hinkley Point nuclear station, currently under review by the UK government and at the centre of a growing debate over whether offshore wind should be deployed in its place.
