Vattenfall secured consent on the second bounce for its Norfolk Vanguard offshore wind farm, half of what is planned as one the world’s largest twin-track developments but sent back into the UK planning system by legal action that left it separated from its sister project.

UK energy secretary Kwasi Kwarteng granted consent for the second time to the 1.8GW Vanguard on Friday, almost a year to the day since legal action by a coastal resident reversed an original green light.
