Turbines at largest Dutch offshore wind farm installed in five months despite Covid-19

All 94 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD turbines have been installed in less than five months at Orsted’s 752MW Borssele 1&2 offshore wind array despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

The wind farm off the southern part of the Netherlands is the country’s largest and will supply electricity for one million households.

“We have been able to construct the whole 752MW wind farm, during a pandemic without anyone being infected which all can be very proud of,” said Henrik Egholm, EPC director for Borssele 1&2 at Orsted.
