At present, there is no utility-scale wind capacity installed in the region, which stretches in an arc of eight states from Virginia to Louisiana.
Arkansas and Kentucky - also with no installations - and Tennessee, with 29MW, were also included in custom wind area maps in the region developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the Southeastern Wind Coalition (SEWC).
