The Anschutz Corporation’s $3bn TransWest Express wind transmission line has obtained two key land use permits in Wyoming, keeping the 730-mile (1,175km) four-state project on track to begin 2020 construction.

The project is one of several US long-haul transmission projects still in active development for renewable energy. Most others have stalled or collapsed because of financing and permitting and regulatory issues, and/or landowner and state political opposition.
