Key European and German wind power groups a month before general elections in Europe’s largest economy urged the next government to remove a permitting bottleneck and other impediments to faster expansion of onshore wind capacity in particular.

WindEurope, the German wind energy federation (BWE) and turbine manufacturer representative VDMA Power Systems jointly called for a speeding up of annual additions on land to 5-6GW in order to meet German and EU 2030 climate goals.
