Taiwan is seen adding 19GW of renewables capacity in the decade through 2029, driven predominantly by offshore wind and solar, Fitch Solutions said.

President Tsai Ing-wen’s intention to develop Taiwan into a regional renewable energy hub, with a 2025 target to boost the share of renewables in total generation to 20% (up from an estimated 4% in 2019) is behind the analysts’ bullish forecast.
