Taiwan’s President Ma Ying-jeou and Premier Liu Chao-shiuan insist that a bill supporting renewable energy – which has been stuck in the legislature for more than six years – must clear the floor before the end of the current legislative session on 31 May.
The bill nearly passed in 2005, but was ultimately torpedoed by special interest groups.
